Today

Today, I woke up, I sat up in bed, and I grinned, I grinned because I was in reminiscence, it felt good remembering… I am sitting up again, with a cup of Cappuccino and just loving the Weather, from my window, I can see the sun and the sky is so blue, I see a shadow on another building, which reminds me of a mask from heaven.

In my head, I am wondering if I should call my mother, I decided, I would call her later, once I get out of my chilling mode… Oh, I just heard a Bird chirped… I am planning on what to do today, should I go out or just put some music on and dance my fat off, I think otherwise. So I logged on to my Space, and read some of my Poems, and I am like, you know what, I really like what I write and I thank my creator for given me the talent to write such beautiful Poems…  I wish you all a lovely Sunday…

Valentine Love

Hi folks, I wish you a pleasant stay on my Site and remember to always find your way back.. Peace & Love ….  Bunmi Darling x.

My intention was to write a story

about Valentine, I changed

my mind into a Poem,

I chuckled over my

Valentine Poem, nibbling on

my Chocolate with amorous

delicacy.  Slowly, I drifted

to Cloud 9, an illusion

swept me away, I went

on a Fantasy romance

with my heart’s desire, on

realisation of reality, my

face, lop-sided and

disheartened.

Not for long, I heard a soft knock,

It was a knock on my heart,

It led my heart’s desire to me,

I melted in his love, my heart’s

desire melted my heart with

his desire for me and my

burning passion for him. In my

heart, we made a room so big

for us, we had a Valentine’s

Bed, it was pure Valentine’s love.

This Poem is dedicated to Tainted Love

The Bag Lady

Hi Folks, welcome to my Site, I really appreciate your visits, they make me happy and my hope is that I would have made you happy in my own little way… Thank you and remember you are forever welcome… x Bunmi Darling x..

Here comes the Bag lady,

there she goes on her Butterfly.

The bag lady is flying on a Butterfly,

She counts the colours on her Butterfly,

she likes the colours. The Butterfly,

cannot fly for long, the Bag lady

hatched a plan, an Eagle journey.

Here comes the Bag lady on an eagle,

She is flying so high she can’t believe

her eyes, but the Owls are trying to stop her,

to stop her from flying so high, the Bag lady

is in misery, she is lost on the back of `an

Eagle, she feels lost, she feels no

one likes her enough to rescue her from

the big powerful Owl. The Bag lady

plans on a journey, this journey she must

not keep in her brain as the big bad Owl

will find it in her brain. The big bad

Owl is powerful, he reads into your mind.

The Bag lady flies with the Eagle, she

throws caution to the wind. The Bag

lady sees a shining Star, she hatched a

plan with the Star, to flap like the wings

of an Eagle, in deep waters. The Bag

lady is flying so high with the Eagle, the

Owl is powerless, he is powerless

to the Bag lady. The Owl is blind, the divine

light from the Eagle’s eyes, has blinded the

Owl, he feels powerless, he can’t see

the bag lady.

I am in love

Happy Sunday folks, I hope and pray today brings you peace and joy… x Bunmi Darling x

I am in love; I am in love with me,

I love being in love with me, it makes

me complete, it completes me as a person.

I love the feeling of being in love with me.

The world said love you, I did and I laughed,

I laughed with the gods, they laughed with

me; the gods said “don’t blame me”, I

laughed.  The world said my confidence

was arrogance, I laughed.

I love to love me, for when I love me,

then I can love you. True love comes

from loving you, I will not stop loving me,

if it is too hard for you to deal with, I

recommend you taste my medicine of

loving me, be yourself, love you, so

we can spread our love, around the

Cosmos, as the Ocean is eternity spread.

Erotica

You know what, here I am thinking how do I start the beginning of this greeting, and I didn’t want to start with "hi ya, welcome blbh"So there! Welcome, have fun and remember you are forever welcome… Peace x Bunmi Darling x..

Give me sugar. I want your nourishment,

I want erotica, hold me tight, and hold me down,

don’t let me fall from your embrace, I like the

Whip cream.

Pour it on me slowly, hmmm erotica,

that is the way I feel when you hold me

with your passion, hold me down with your

gentle hands; caress me slowly, you know

the way I like to be touch with passion.

Ha erotica, I love strawberries, I love eating them,

I love the way you eat Strawberries off my body, it

feels so nice, it feels erotica, I can go on about my

desire for you, your passion, this is not kinky, this

is true erotica, I want you to kiss me, love me.

I love erotica, erotica of my body, and erotica of my soul.

Just give it to me slowly, oh yes slowly erotica at

dawn, erotica at midnight.

Forgiveness

What is forgiveness? We have all made so many mistakes in life that we sometimes wish we could kick ourselves in the butt for being stupid. We still have to forgive ourselves for making bad choices. Forgiveness is a way of releasing ourselves from the pain we have experienced at the hands of others. It is a release from judgment, including our judgment of ourselves.

To forgive someone does not mean you agree with all the bad that has been done to you, but a way of releasing yourself from the demons of your heart… It does not mean you can change what happened or erase what they did. What’s done is done. All we can do is release ourselves.

To forgive, you have to heal yourself, healing is like the peeling of an onion. As each layer is removed, another appears. As I look at an onion I notice that the outer layer is tough and not too tasty. It’s a hard shell produced to protect the inner sweetness the core of the onion possesses. So rank are some layers that tears come to the eye as they are peeled away. But the peeling continues because we know that the centre is sweet and the tears will subside and a good meal will be enhanced by its presence.

What I’ve found is that I need not forgive and forget, because it is really quite impossible. What I need to do is remember the event I’m dealing with and then release it. Remembering, is not always pretty it usually hurts. But I’ve found that nothing goes away by my ignoring it and if I wish to grow these things need to be dealt with. So today, I Bunmi Darling, forgive those who have wronged me and slandered me for no just reason…  My hurt, my pain goes out of the window…. If I am to be honest, the people that have wronged me are the people that I have always been kind to and always wishing good for them.

Their badness will not stop me from being who I am, it is not about me, but them…. … Forgiveness is not something you do for someone else, but to free YOURSELF from the continuation of pain and anger. It is a gift to your peace of mind, your self-esteem, your relationships with others, your future.

And please release those pains, pains will never let you see joy, rather it will eat into your skin and then you lose who you are for being bitter… I wish you all a lovely Sunday.

Lost in Space

Hi folks, welcome to my Crib of Poetries, please make yourself comfortable and remember, you are forever welcome on my site.. x Poetry Darling x

Legs shaking wildly, singing

to the melody in my head,

A Tina Turner song,

“What’s love got to do with it”,

I wondered sombrely. I wondered

Into Space, I am lost in bewilderment,

I am lost in Space. Is this truly Space?

I asked myself.This Space is

so large it goes on forever.

I was the only one on Space.

I felt no humans, but I felt lives

around me, invisible lives, I could

not see them, I felt their joy as

they surrounded me in Space,

I kept whispering the song, “What’s

Love got to do with it”, I thought no

one could hear my whispering,

gradually I heard a drumming of

a beat, slowly at first, then it became

louder, it did not hurt my ears, it was

soft, it sounded like a Tambourine.

Swiftly, a voice filled space,

I could not make out the voice,

It was not a woman’s voice,

neither was it a man’s voice,

it was a beautiful voice.

The voice said, “welcome

to no man’s land, you have found

me”, I listened to you singing

like a Bird, you sang the wrong

Song, love has everything to do

with it, you are here because

of love.

I was mesmerised, I was enthralled,

I was dazed by the beautiful voice.

Around me was Sunlight; it was

not daylight, it was a different

Sunlight from earth, It did not

hurt my eyes it filled me with

Inner love, this love, I will

never forget.

History of music

Today, I kept thinking how music has really taken over our world… Can you ever imagine a world without music? (I can’t imagine it). Such a special talent, to write songs, sing and have a hit. Personally, I couldn’t do without music, I live music, I eat music, I drink music, music to me epitomises happiness.. Just love my music…. They say when you love something, you find out more about it, so I did a bit of research about music…

History of Music

                                                    The Middle Ages

The traditions of Western music can be traced back to the social and religious developments that took place in Europe during the Middle Ages, the years roughly spanning from about 500 to 1400 A.D. Because of the domination of the early Christian Church during this period, sacred music was the most prevalent. Beginning with Gregorian Chant, church music slowly developed into a polyphonic music called organum performed at Notre Dame in Paris by the twelfth century. Secular music flourished, too, in the hands of the French trouvères and troubadours, until the period culminated with the sacred and secular compositions of the first true genius of Western music, Guillaume de Machaut. Music had been a part of the world’s civilizations for hundreds of years before the Middle Ages. Primitive cave drawings, stories from the Bible, and Egyptian heiroglyphs all attest to the fact that people had created instruments and had been making music for centuries.

The Renaissance

The Renaissance was a time of rebirth in learning, science, and the arts throughout Europe. The rediscovery of the writings of ancient Greece and Rome led to a renewed interest in learning in general. The invention of the printing press allowed the disbursement of this knowledge in an unprecedented manner. The invention of the compass permitted the navigation of the world’s oceans and the subsequent discovery of lands far removed from the European continent.

With Copernicus’ discovery of the actual position of the earth in the solar system and Martin Luther’s Protestant Reformation, the Catholic Church lost its grip on society and a humanist spirit was born. This spirit manifested itself in the painting and sculpture of Michelangelo, the plays of Shakespeare, and in both the sacred and secular dance and vocal music of the greatest composers of the era.

Dance music of the Renaissance

Throughout the Renaissance instrumental dance music flowered and thrived, and was composed, or more likely improvised, by many people. Musicians whose names have come down to us collected much of this existing music and had it published in various volumes over the years. The Terpsichore of Michael Praetorius (c.1571-1621) and the dance music of Tielman Susato (c.1500-1561) represent some of the outstanding examples of dance music from the late Renaissance. A piece such as La Spagna , (attributed to Josquin des Prez) is an excellent example of the buoyant rhythms and sounds of the Renaissance dance. Many of these dance forms were modified and developed by later composers and found their way into the Baroque dance suite.

The beginnings of Opera

In the last years of the sixteenth century, a group of musicians and literati in Florence, Italy experimented with a new method of composing dramatic vocal music, modeling their ideas after the precepts of ancient Greek theater. Their intent was that this new music should prove more direct and communicative to an audience, as the complex polyphony of the Renaissance could very often obscure the text being sung. They instead set a single melodic line against a basic chordal accompaniment, and with this notion of homophony, a new era of music began. The Florentine Camerata called this new form of musical-dramatic entertainment opera. The first operas were private affairs, composed for the Italian courts. But when in 1737 the first public opera house opened in Venice, Italy, opera became a commercial industry, and the genre in which many composers throughout history first tried out new ideas and new techniques of composition.

 The Classical Period

From roughly 1750 to 1820, artists, architechts, and musicians moved away from the heavily ornamented styles of the Baroque and the Rococo, and instead embraced a clean, uncluttered style they thought reminiscent of Classical Greece. The newly established aristocracies were replacing monarchs and the church as patrons of the arts, and were demanding an impersonal, but tuneful and elegant music. Dances such as the minuet and the gavotte were provided in the forms of entertaining serenades and divertimenti. At this time the Austrian capital of Vienna became the musical center of Europe, and works of the period are often referred to as being in the Viennese style. Composers came from all over Europe to train in and around Vienna, and gradually they developed and formalized the standard musical forms that were to predominate European musical culture for the next several decades.

 The Romantic Era

As the many socio-political revolutions of the late eighteenth-century established new social orders and new ways of life and thought, so composers of the period broke new musical ground by adding a new emotional depth to the prevailing classical forms. Throughout the remainder of the nineteenth-century (from ca. 1820 to 1900), artists of all kinds became intent in expressing their subjective, personal emotions. "Romanticism" derives its name from the romances of medieval times — long poems telling stories of heroes and chivalry, of distant lands and far away places, and often of unattainable love. The romantic artists are the first in history to give to themselves the name by which they are identified.

The Twentieth-Century

By the turn of the century and for the next few decades, artists of all nationalities were searching for exciting and different modes of expression. Composers such as Arnold Schoenberg explored unusual and unorthodox harmonies and tonal schemes. French composer Claude Debussy was fascinated by Eastern music and the whole-tone scale, and created a style of music named after the movement in French painting called Impressionism. Hungarian composer Béla Bartók continued in the traditions of the still strong Nationalist movement and fused the music of Hungarian peasants with twentieth century forms.

Avant-garde composers such as Edgard Varèse explored the manipulation of rhythms rather than the usual melodic/harmonic schemes. The tried-and-true genre of the symphony, albeit somewhat modified by this time, attracted such masters as Gustav Mahler and Dmitri Shostakovich, while Igor Stravinsky gave full rein to his manipulation of kaleidoscopic rhythms and instrumental colors throughout his extremely long and varied career.

I cried

Hi folks, welcome to my crib of Poetries, make yourself comfortable…. Thank you.. x Poetry Darling x.

Playing around my favourite

playing ground, I was pushed, I was

pushed into a Water Fountain, facing

down, with two fingers on each of

my eyelid, I cried, I cried under the

Water fountain. I asked myself why

I was crying, I had no reason to cry,

but I was crying under the water

Fountain.

I cried for my naivety of life, my

naivety of always believing, I

cried for my soul, a soul that has

no reason for crying. I cried for

Injustice, I cried for hunger, I cried

for my personal hunger, these are not

tears of pain but tears of relief, I cried

under the Water fountain.

I cried for a perfect life, I cried because

of my imperfect life, I cried for perfection

but they say imperfection is unattainable,

the mind wonders what it would feel like

for a perfect life, I am told the word perfect

does not exist, yet I yearn for perfection.

I cried for solitude, human solitude and the

beating of a gentle wind on a mid summer

morning. I cried with the Doves, when they

cry I weep, I weep in peace, I weep with the

Doves of knowledge.

Console me not, the tears are relieving,

relieving me. Let me have this tears

with the Doves, as my tears with the Doves

always turns to laughter and omnipotent

Perfection.
